Thu, Oct 15, 2020:  A chilly and gloomy day today.  Good day to curl up with a book—which we did.  After lunch we played spades for a while.  Kicked azz.  Not sure what’s for dinner tonight.  Maybe a grilled cheese sandwich and soup.  Sounds good.

Wed, Oct 14, 2020:  Mike went off to shoot skeet with Darwin this morning.  And a beautiful day for it, except it’s windy and I’m sure those clay birds were all over the place.  While he was gone I hosed off the gutter helmet in back.  We no longer have to clean out our gutters, but we do have to clean off the surface of the gutter helmets once a year.  No big deal.  I just hose it off.  Relaxed and read my book for a while.  After lunch Nomad and I played spades for a while.  Hope we do better than yesterday.  84 today.  Tomorrow the high is going to be 61.  I like the change of seasons though.  Left-over pork chops for dinner tonight.

Sun, Oct 11, 2020:  Another beautiful, warm fall day.  Blew off the deck twice.  We both sat outside reading our latest books with the leaves falling all around us.  Stink bugs are all over the place.  Must be mating season or something.  I just started the latest Grisham book, “Camino Winds.”   Great book.  Mike just finished the Michener book, “Chesapeake.”  Hope this weather lasts for a while.

 Fri, Oct 9, 2020:  I’m not worried about Covid as much as I am about the STUPID-AZZ DRIVERS out there!  While waiting in the left-turn lane to make my turn, an IDIOT coming the other way used the turning lane to pass the two lanes of stopped traffic and almost hit me head on.  I hate people. 

Baked a loaf of orange-cranberry bread the other day.  Delicious!

 

 Wed, Oct 7, 2020:  It’s starting to look more and more like fall.  The trees are showing off their fall colors.  But the weather!  It was 89 today!  Unbelievable.  Mike and Darwin shot skeet today.  What a beautiful day for it.

 

Fri, Sep 25, 2020:  We’ve been enjoying some beautiful fall weather.  Trees are starting to turn and nights are cool.  I voted yesterday.  Was great.  No lines at that time.  We tried on first day of early voting but it was slammed.  Tried later that day, and still slammed.  Low 80s today.  Guess we’re going to order in for dinner.  Not sure what.

There was this marble wall along the walkway with ghost-like images of the soldiers.  Unfortunately, it reflected people on the walkway as well.

 

Mon, Sep 21, 2020:  Just watched the documentary “RBG” and the movie, “On the Basis of Sex,” based on Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s life.  She was amazing.  R.I.P. Notorious RBG.  She fought for women and minority rights and will be sorely missed.
