Sun, Nov 22, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Got the laundry out of the way this morning.  That’s about it.  I was binge watching documentaries/movies about the Kennedys.  A bunch of our neighbors took off on their motor cycles to terrorize folks in Glades and Hendry Counties.  That’s about it.  A quiet day today.  Low-80s today.

Sat, Nov 21, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Went for my walk early.  Took a different route along a road next to a little slough loaded with lily pads.  And gators probably.  Talked with a few people at a distance.  I was the only one with a mask.  A really nice day.  After lunch we watched our Netflix movie “Alpha” about a stone age young man who on a hunting trip gets injured.  After badly injuring a wolf who attacks him, he doesn’t have the heart to finish her off—instead nurses her back to health.  Together they make it back to his tribe.  Mid-80s again today.  HBM!

Fri, Nov 20, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:   Back to LaBelle to hopefully return the digital frame I ordered on-line.  FINALLY got it done.  On the way back we were trying to find Port LaBelle (is there a port?) and drove around some really rural roads with several “ranchette” subdivisions.  Mini ranches with about 10 acre lots and surrounded with flat board fencing.  Really nice.  Never found any port, or even the river.  Will try again.  Back home and read for a while.  After lunch I made a huge 6-bean salad, or my version of it, to have with our hot dogs tonight.  It’s delicious and so healthy.  Mike’s out there putzing around getting stuff out of the truck and storing in the shed.  We’ll probably have the hitch taken out of the bed of the truck this spring.  It’s really heavy and takes up a lot of room.  Doubt we’ll ever be moving the fifth wheel again.  Playing spades with Nomad in a little while.  Mid-80s today and windy in the afternoon.

Thu, Nov 19, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Off to Clewiston this morning—Mike to get a script and me to try to return a digital picture frame I bought on line from Walmart.  In LaBelle I was told I had to bring the envelope that it was mailed in before they could take it back.  So now ensconced in the envelope I received it in, I went to the Clewiston Walmart and they said it was a third-party purchase (Marketplace) and I had to call Marketplace and tell them I need to return it and they would send me a label.  OH MY GOD, JUST TAKE THE DAMN THING BACK!  And now to make our day even better, last night Mike turned on the Fantastic Fan in the kitchen area and it made a horrible noise.  So, now we have to remove the screen and see what’s up there.  Took the screen off and it was one of those frogs.  This one is petrified.  Not sure how long it’s been up there.  Anyway, cleaned the screen and the blades and put back together.  Works fine.  Glad this day is almost over.

Wed, Nov 18, 2020: The Glades RV Resort: Early this morning I got up and turned on the fireplace. Really chilly during the night. But the day dawned under a deep blue, cloudless sky. Only went for a short walk. The wind constantly picked up until we had to put the awning away. Mike had lunch out in the screen room and read his book. I stayed inside and read for a while. Really enjoying my latest espionage thriller, “The Fox” by Fredrick Forsythe. Played spades with Nomad in the afternoon. High 70s today.

Tue Nov 17, 2020:  The Glades RV Resort:  Did the grocery shopping today in LaBelle.  Also I took back the digital picture frame I bought from Walmart on-line.  They wouldn’t accept it without something to mail it back in.  Great.  Didn’t read that in their return policy.  So, came back and dug the padded envelope it was mailed in out of the garbage, cleaned it off, and will return it tomorrow.  Went for my walk right after breakfast this morning.  Didn’t see any more wildlife.  A beautiful day though—much cooler with less humidity. Had more of my fried turkey dinner for lunch today.  Still have some left.  Mike ate lunch in the screen room and nodded off for a while.  A good day for it.  81 today.

Mon, Nov 16, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Another hot and humid day today until the cooler weather prevails.  I went for my walk early.  Today I walked over to the other side of the marina where the paved road ends and unpaved road begins.  I saw a peregrine falcon fly out of the tree on my right and fly over to a group of palm trees on the other side of the marina.  Seems she has a nest up there.  Don’t know what she “caught” to feed her chicks.  Will walk up there again tomorrow.  On the way back, I saw a coral snake in the road.  (red against yellow could kill a fellow, red against black is a friend to Jack).  A small one, but they’re not very big snakes anyway.  But they’re very venomous.  They don’t have fangs like a rattle snake, but if they bite you, it’s probably over.  I didn’t have my camera with me, so after I returned I got my camera and walked back there and took a picture.  I realized the snake is dead. Then we headed to Ft. Myers to see if Mike could find the part he needs.  No luck, so we stopped at Camping World and bought a propane tank and adapter so we can use our existing grill.  While we were in that area, we stopped at Cracker Barrell and ordered two fried turkey dinners to take back with us.  That was really good.  Only ate half.  And when I looked out our back window, there was a black snake on the table that holds the grill.  Yikes!
