Mon, Mar 28, 2022:  The Glades RV Park to Ocala, FL:  Left this morning at 9:30 and stopped for lunch at 12:45 and we switched and Mike took over driving.  Instead of I75, we took Rt. 27 through central Florida.  It’s a four-lane, limited-access highway all the way.  I loved Lake Placid.  I could see living there.  Not too big.  After Rt. 27 we had a short stint on Florida Turnpike and then a shorter drive on I75.  We were in the Holiday Inn Ocala at 2:30.  Resting up before dinner.

Sun, Mar 27, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Today after lunch we start packing up for our trip home.  Leaving tomorrow morning.  We don’t have much to do as far as packing goes.  Dale is stopping by this evening to collect some of our condiments.  Our refrigerator is pretty much bare now.  Left-overs for dinner tonight and after breakfast tomorrow morning we head out.  Hope we don’t encounter any bad weather.  Over and out.

Looking forward to getting back to our winter home.

Thu, Mar 24, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Well, we headed to Crumb’s last evening for Mike’s birthday dinner.  But we forgot they close at 3:00 on Wednesday.  We dodged a bullet though, since it poured down rain when we would have been sitting outside on the patio.  My daughter, Michele, was thoughtful enough to send Mike a card for his birthday.  The only one he received—other than mine.  We’re going to Crumb’s this evening and try again.

Thu, Mar 17, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Had lunch at Crumb’s today.  A beautiful, balmy day.  Came back and sat in the shade reading for a while.  A group of our neighbors are having dinner at Crumb’s tonight to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Wed, Mar 16, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  We finally got our fourth Pfizer shot on Monday.  I called CVS after seeing on the news that people with compromised immune systems were getting this shot.  I asked the pharmacist what it would take to get this shot—a doctor’s note—WHAT?  So, he said to come on in.  And we finally got it!  We had a storm here a couple of days ago.  LOTS of wind and some rain.  We need the rain.  Supposed to rain again today, so not sure about Crumb’s for lunch.  Warm and humid today.  But I had a great walk this morning.  Supposed to be 86 today.

Sat, Mar 5, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Had to drive into Ft. Myers on Thursday to see the surgeon one last time.  So, we stopped at The Boat House Tiki Bar on our way home and had a late lunch.  A beautiful day.  We sat at the bar overlooking the river and watched all the boat traffic.  Then on Friday we met Dale and Carolyn for lunch at Crumb’s.  All in all, a good week with great weather.  Supposed to be 89 for the next week or so.

Sun, Feb 27, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Another beautiful day is expected today.  I got up early and started the laundry.  We were done before 9:00!  Mike not so happy since he’s NOT a morning person.  We had lunch at the tiki bar in Clewiston the other day for the first time this season.  No masks, but it’s basically outside.  Crumb’s is much nicer.  I’ve been struggling the past two days with trying to get insurance for our fifth wheel.  Turns out, when it’s anchored down and up on blocks, Progressive wouldn’t cover it any more.  Tried a couple of other places to no avail.  Tried to get mobile home coverage, but ours is too small.  Another one said if our wheels were touching the ground they wouldn’t cover it.  I checked with our neighbors who have a similar situation and asked who they’re insured with.  Called them and finally got coverage.  And it’s a few hundred dollars cheaper—even though we have to have collision coverage for some stupid reason. Supposed to be in the upper 80s today.
