Fri, Feb 16, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  Had to get up early again this morning to head to LaBelle for my hair appointment.  Came back to the Glades and drove around the new sites they’ve been putting in here.  Most of them are really nice.  Met Dale and Carolyn for lunch at the Riverside Grill and then back to our site and sat outside reading for a while.  Played spades for a while and now going back outside to enjoy this beautiful evening.  Upper 70s today.

Thu, Feb 15, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  Had to get up early this morning to go to a doctor’s appointment in LaBelle.  After that I ran some more errands and then headed back.  Mike was busy putting together our new trimmer.  I did some trimming to try it out.  A beautiful day.  Sat outside reading for a while.  Mike grilled some beautiful pork chops for dinner tonight.  Delicious!

Wed, Feb 14, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  After my morning ablutions I went out for a walk.  Had to wear my polartech jacket.  Only in the 50s.  But nice.  After my walk I drove up to the office and picked up our new trimmer from Amazon and took the cans over to the recycle area.  Picked up a new book at the library and turned in the one I just finished. Mike was up when I got back and ready to cook a Valentine’s Day brunch of French toast.  Really good!  He gave me a box of chocolates and a beautiful card.  One of the guys brought over a beautiful rose.  I got Mike a chocolate racing car.  But I kept it in the closet for the past week or so.  Not sure if it’s even edible now. It got quite warm one day last week. The card I made for him wouldn’t print for some reason, so I had to email it to him.  Well, I guess it’s the thought that counts.

Tue, Feb 13, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  My shower felt so good this morning.  I was so sweaty all day yesterday.  Didn’t even walk today.  Walked yesterday and it was so windy it was hard walking.  I was walking right into the wind.  After my shower I didn’t do much of anything.  Just folded the sheets in the dryer.  Too chilly and windy to sit outside and read.  Mike, on the other hand, was busy busy.  He finished setting up the water softener, cleaned the grill up, and tried to fix the small leak in the faucet leading to the washer in the shed.  If he can’t fix it, we’ll get the plumber back in here who put it in.

Sun, Feb 12, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  My brother Ronnie came by today.  We sat around talking for a while and then he helped Mike get the water softener out.  We worked on the gizmo that transfers the audio on the TV directly to his hearing aids.  We finally gave up after going through the book step by step.  After Ronnie left we kept trying—to no avail.  Ronnie called in the middle of this and said he found a Belltone book on the Internet.  The one he found on the Internet was not like the one we have that came with the gizmo.  With Ronnie’s help we finally got it working!  Thanks Ron!  Later in the evening we sat down to watch the Super Bowl.  What a CF!  We were watching it on Paramount+ and it kept stopping and stalling.  We ended up watching it on a Hispanic channel (#51 on Dish).  A great game because the Chiefs won!

Sat, Feb 10, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  Beautiful day on Friday, so we met Dale and Carolyn for lunch.  Nice enough to dine outside on the patio.  This morning after my morning ablutions I went for my walk.  So nice to be out in the sunshine.  After that I did the laundry.  Stripped the bed and put clean sheets on.  Put the dirty ones in the washer.  Will wait for Mike to help me fold.  He didn’t get up ‘til noon!  Read my book for a while outside and watched a movie during lunch.  Yesterday afternoon a large corporate jet crashed on I75.  The pilot, co-pilot and three passengers on board.  The pilot and co-pilot were killed, but the three passengers walked away.  The plane hit one truck on the ground, but the guy survived.  Needless to say I75 was backed up for miles.

Thu, Feb 8, 2024:  Glades RV Park:  Nice sunny morning. But supposed to cloud up by noon.  Temps in the 70s today.  Brandon showed up early this morning to work on the screen room roof.  And I think he fixed a short in the thermostat.  The furnace worked well last night.  We bought a cover for the grill.  So, instead of lugging the thing into the shed when we leave, we’ll just cover it and leave it.  Trying to make things as stress-free and easy as possible.  The only thing left is to set up the water softener.  It’s not hard, but the thing is heavy.  I can help Mike with that.  He’s been a lot more active down here—a good thing.  Glades news:  Tom (the owner) finally got Dennis (our tree guy) a cherry picker.  Used to freak me out when he’d climb up that ladder to trim the trees in here.  And there are snakes up there!  When he trimmed our palm, there was a snake up there. Enough of my rambling.  James called a couple of days ago.  He’s trying to talk us into flying down and renting a car for the season.  He’s checking into cheap car rentals and I’m doing the same.  But I don’t think Mike is thrilled about that scenario (sigh).
