Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another really warm one today.  Sat outside for a while, but after lunch we both came in to air conditioned comfort.  Mike watched the Nascar race (yawn) and I finished my book.  Jerry and Char stopped by with an invitation to a patio party at their site tonight at 7:00.  Will be fun.  Mike went out and picked up some fried chicken by Dion.  It’s sold at gas stations—which always turned us off.  But everyone has told us it is so good.  And they’re right!  It’s delicious!

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, Fl:  A very warm day today.  Around 2:00 we drove to Key West, parked at Simonton and walked around Duval for a while.  I bought a Key West bracelet and then we stopped for a drink at Fogarty’s on Duval.  Too many people!  Walked way up Duval to the 900 block.  Wanted to check out the restaurant 915.  Didn’t like the menu there.  Ended up at Martins just next door.  Had a great meal out in their garden.  Walked back to our parking spot and drove back.  Last night we watched our Netflix movie, “Sophie Scholl, The Final Days”, an amazing true story of this 21-year-old university student who is arrested for distributing anti-Hitler and anti-Nazi leaflets.  She unflinchingly endures withering interrogation from the Gestapo.  Such a brave girl!  She was executed in only 6 days after her arrest—by the draconian method of beheading.  87 today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  We grounded ourselves today.  Mike watched a race on TV and I lazed around reading and relaxing.  Michelle didn’t work today so we didn’t even take Bastion for a walk.  Trying to decide whether or not to go over to the clubhouse for movie night tonight.  Probably won’t since we have a netflix to watch.  A nice, warm day—in the 80s.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  After lunch today we played miniature golf at Boondocks.  Invited Esther and Gerald.  Esther not feeling so great, so Gerald went with us.  Played two rounds.  After that we stopped at the store to pick up desserts for tonight’s spaghetti dinner.  We both bought pies.  Came back, dropped Gerald off, and we went home and took Bastion for a walk around the lake.  Stopped at Jerry and Char’s site.  Bastion was enthralled with their dock.  He likes the water.  Jerry and Char just had pavers put in their site which came out really nice.  Brought Bastion back and got ready for tonight’s dinner.  After dinner we’re going to Esther and Gerald’s site.  They owe us some wine from our Superbowl bet.  And they’re going to have a fire.  Will be fun.  Mid-80s today.  Does it get any better?

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Today was our grocery and laundry day.  Got that out of the way and had lunch at Pizza Works.  Really good pizza.  Back home, put everything away, and took Bastion for a walk around the lake.  Mike stopped at Esther and Gerald’s site and I continued down Johnson Road with Bastion.  Walked him over to the road that goes down to the KOA.  He wanted to keep going, but I said no and  he grudgingly agreed to go back. Stopped at Esther and Gerald’s for a while, then we headed home, gave Bastion a treat and got him settled.  Had left-overs for dinner.  Warm and breezy today.  82.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A lot cooler this morning.  The usual Monday routine of cleaning, donuts, shoes, and I had the added fun of defrosting the freezer.  Happy hour tonight.  Cooler—but a nice, sunny day.  Mid-70s and a lot less humid.

Sunshine Key RV Park

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  I wanted to sleep in this morning, but Bastion was outside howling after Michelle and Doug left for work.  He wouldn’t stop howling and barking until I got up, went out there and told him to stop.  Which he did.  I had to go out one more time when he started barking again, but he finally settled down.  Considering the fact that this dog is left outside (tied) for around 12 hours when they’re working, he’s really good.  We left around noon to head up to Sunshine Key RV Park which is just before the 7-mile bridge.  The people that manage the cafĂ© there we met in Door County in Wisconsin on our many trips there.  They own two restaurants in Bailey’s Harbor—two brothers and their wives.  Anyway, when we got there the one couple that we knew better were in Miami for a couple of days.  So, we had lunch there anyway.  Good food and reasonably priced.  Came back and walked Bastion around the lake.  It was pretty hot so we didn’t take him on a long walk.  Brought him back, gave him a treat and went across the road to our site and sat outside reading and enjoying this beautiful day.  Driving up through the Keys was so nice.  The water was so pretty, with a pallet of colors that only nature could provide.  There were dark greens, pale greens, turquoise hues, deep blues, and a creamy light blue.  85 today.
