Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  I actually went over for donuts this morning.  Not sure why.  Didn’t partake of any.  Took my smoothie over with me.  They picked up our 95-year-old neighbor in a golf cart and took her over.  Although she actually walked around the lake yesterday with her friends who were visiting.  Back home and finished up the cleaning and then sat outside reading for a while. The little night heron still hangs out in the mangroves behind our site.  Has for a few years now.  Between the Giant Madagascar Day Gecko, the night heron, and the Iguanas, it’s a veritable wild kingdom around here.  Happy hour tonight and then somewhere for dinner. A nice day today—warm and sunny.  Mid-80s.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A pretty quiet day today.  Started out warm but then cooled off some.  Watched another episode of “Winds of War” and just hung out.  Mike grilled some pork chops for dinner.  We had that along with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.  Upper 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A beautiful, warm and sultry day today.  We went to the Galley Grill for breakfast.  I got a head start and walked down to the end of Johnson Road and started back before Mike picked me up.  We took the bikes to the Big Pine Bike Shop for their annual tune-up.  While there I tried riding a three-wheeler.  THAT was hysterical.  I had no control of the thing at all.  Kept running into parked vehicles.  I would have thought it would be easy.  Not so—at least not for me.  Stopped at Walgreens on our way home and had Mike drop me off at the end of Johnson Road so I could walk back.  Mike joined me after he parked the truck and we walked around a little and stopped at Carol and Ray’s site.  Hung out there for a couple of hours.  While there, I spotted this really beautiful green gecko with red spots and markings.  He had little suction cup feet.  Looked him up on the Internet and found out it’s a Giant Madagascar Day Gecko.  I don’t know why it’s called a “giant.”  It’s only about 5 inches long.  I know there’s a bar/restaurant in the Keys somewhere where these cute guys hang out.  I think they’re rare or something.  Went back to our site and sat outside reading and enjoying this beautiful day.  Then came in and watched another episode of “The Winds of War.”  Low 80s today with a nice breeze.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  At last!  The sun is back!  Sat outside reading for a while.  Then drove to Key West and saw “Saving Mr. Banks” with Tom Hanks.  Interesting story.  Killed two birds with one stone today—got my walk in and saw the movie we’ve been wanting to see.  Lots of activity at the NAS also.  A couple of days ago when we drove in, two fighter jets took off in formation and screamed right over the top of us.  They were so low!  And today when we drove in they were doing “touch-and-gos.”  81 today and mostly sunny!

Woo Hoo!!

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Grey, cloudy, and spitting rain off and on all day.  We took care of some maintenance chores.  And Carmen, our next door neighbor, asked if she could put up a clothes line in her site.  Mike went over and put it up for her.  That was the extent of our day today.  Low 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another not so great day today.  But, we had to do the laundry and grocery shopping anyway, so no big deal.  Got that done and went to Pizza Works for lunch.  In the afternoon after putting everything away we headed to Key West to see “American Hustle”—an okay movie.  Received all kinds of accolades, but I didn’t think it was that great.  Left the show and it was raining pretty hard.  Back home and relaxed the rest of the evening.  Ate too much popcorn and candy.  Low 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Had the heat on this morning.  A cold, grey, and windy day today.  We drove to Key West to see the orthopedic surgeon—I thought for the last time.  But not to be.  He said it’s not completely healed.  He said the X-rays look good and it hasn’t moved.  I’m thinking—WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT HASN’T MOVED?  YOU MEAN IT COULD STILL MOVE?  And he told me to be careful and not fall on it again or it could be very bad.  I’m thinking—I DIDN’T PLAN ON FALLING THE FIRST TIME!  Anyway, I have to go back again in 6 weeks.  After my appointment we went to the Kennedy CafĂ© for lunch.  Have been wanting to go there.  They feature Mediterranean Uzbek-Turkish cuisines, as well as Italian American.  I had a Chicken Shwarma sandwich and Mike had a Lamb Doner sandwich. Both were served on authentic Uzbek bread which was very good.  Very different flavors.  Back home and staying inside.  Upper 50s today.
