Sun, Jan 22, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  The wind picked up quite a bit this afternoon.  After lunch I walked around the lake and was getting buffeted around pretty good.  Because the wind is coming out of the south, our site was wind-free.  The guys were out with cherry pickers trimming palms around our site and taking out the coconuts that could cause great harm if they fell on someone.  Sat around reading for a while. As I’m writing this it’s still a beautiful, warm, albeit windy day.  Supposed to have some bad weather tonight I guess.  But the whole day was absolutely beautiful.  And really warm.  Probably in the mid-80s.

Broken record--another perfect day today!

Sat, Jan 21, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Was sitting around this morning talking with our neighbor, Larry, who had just come from the flea market, and I realized, it’s Saturday!  We need to go to the flea market!  So, off we went—hadn’t even eaten breakfast yet.  Got there, walked around and was very disappointed.  No spice lady, no book lady, and the booth where I bought my thumb ring was nowhere to be found.  So, back home, stopping for lunch at Kiki’s for lunch.  Had a great meal and then sat around our site reading for a while.  Carolyn stopped by for a minute.  Thawed out the snapper Larry and John gave us.  We had a great dinner of Panko encrusted snapper sautéed in butter and olive oil.  Yum!  Another perfect day today.  Low 80s with a gentle breeze.

Fri, Jan 20, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another perfect day today—sunny and warm with a slight breeze. Sleepless night for me last night, so I was like the walking dead today.  Did take a nap which just made me feel worse. We were going to go out for dinner tonight, but I was just too tired.  Severe storms on the horizon—Sunday I think. We’ll have to make sure the awnings and chairs are put away.  Mid-80s today.  It was actually hot walking around the lake.  Love it!

A beautiful day on the lake today.

Thu, Jan 19, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another beautiful day today.  At 3:30 we went over to the clubhouse for a wine tasting—hosted by Richard and Larry.  We were tasting Rieslings from northern Michigan.  Our neighbors, Dale and Carolyn, brought them down from Traverse City, where they live in Michigan.  They spent the summer researching and gathering up wines from the area.  They don’t remember much of the summer, but that’s okay.  After the tasting we stumbled back to our sites and called it a day.  Low 80s today with a slight breeze.

Cute little picture on the front page of the Paradise section of this morning's paper.

Our desert rose is about to bloom.

And our other succulent is spreading nicely.  It has little red and yellow flowers.

Wed, Jan 18, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Started out cloudy this morning and then the sky cleared to reveal a pristine blue sky. Sat outside reading and tidying up the site a little and had a lot of visitors.  Took the trash over to the dumpster and continued on around the lake.  Felt good to be out and moving.  Dinner tonight at the clubhouse.  We’ll see if Mike feels good enough to go.  Low 80s today with a wonderful tropical breeze gently swaying the palms.

Tue, Jan 17, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Grocery shopping day today.  Went to the Publix in Key West this week.  We were totally out of Kleenex, so I bought 10 boxes.  We can blow our noses with alacrity now.  After grocery shopping, we had some lunch at Big John’s Pizza.  A nice, warm and breezy day today.  On the way back the Navy fly boys were doing touch and gos at Boca Chica.  If we had felt better, we would have driven down to the end of the runway to watch.  Another time.  Low 80s today and mostly sunny with a beautiful tropical breeze.

Navy fliers on their approach to Boca Chica.  We were on US1 driving back from Key West, so a little blurry.

This guy was right in front of us.  Is this thing weaponized?  Sure looks like a bomb or torpedo underneath.

Mon, Jan 16, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Mike had a terrible night last night.  He felt pretty good yesterday and the day before, but last night it started coming back.  I took care of the laundry here in the park.  Thought about going over to happy hour myself because I feel pretty good today.  But didn’t want to leave him when he’s feeling so bad.  He didn’t play shoes again this week.  This is getting serious when he doesn’t throw shoes. Upper 70s today with a brisk wind.  But mostly sunny.
