Tue, Mar 14, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  At around 1:00 this morning we had to put the awnings in because a little front came through with wind and rain. Rained pretty hard for a while. Did the grocery shopping and took care of some other errands late morning and then had lunch at Boondocks. Back home and relaxed. A little cloudy today and 79.

We used to have concerts here. Haven't had one in a few years now.

Mon, Mar 13, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Douglas called and wanted to get together with us today before we left on Thursday. So, we met him and Chuck at Boondocks for miniature golf at 2:00. After playing a fun game we went to Kiki’s for drinks and food. A fun evening. When we got home we realized we hadn’t even shut our door. But nobody bothers anything—at least not yet. Another beautiful day. Low 80s and a slight breeze.

Another beautiful Lazy Lakes sunrise.

Sun, Mar 12, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  After completing our usual cleaning chores, we got the ladder out and washed some windows. Brought the ladder inside and cleaned the Fantastic Fan screen and the mirror over the island in the kitchen. Then back outside with the ladder and took down the lights on the palm tree and put them away. Trying to do as much as we can so we can have a clean getaway on Thursday. This afternoon we’re going over to the clubhouse for a wine tasting. Chardonnay this time—my favorite. After the wine tasting there will be another marbles/jokers tournament. We have to go to Murray’s Market to pick up some sandwiches or something to take over. Another spectacular day—low 80s with a slight breeze.

When we go to the Everglades after we leave the Keys, we're staying at Flamingo for the first time to take advantage of the electric hook-up. This is where you see most of the crocodiles, which is what this guy is. This is the only place on the planet where both gators and crocs cohabitate.

Sat, Mar 11, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Well, yesterday afternoon we walked over to Char and Jerry’s, wine in hand, intending to stay only an hour or so. We ended up staying until 7:30. Too late to grill our steaks, so we just snacked for dinner. Mike started taking care of some things that need to be done before we leave here on Thursday. Mailed our last Netflix and put our account on hold until we get home. We were sitting outside reading this afternoon and a 44-ft. toy-hauler came in. It’s always interesting when they try to go around the corner at the end of our loop because one of the palm trees leans out over the road a little. He did okay though. They’re in the site across the road and next to the people directly across from us. Low 80s today with deep blue skies.

This is the curve these big rigs have to negotiate.

This is the toy hauler that just came in. It even has a back deck!

Thu, Mar 9, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A lazy, relaxing day today. Put the awnings back out. Mike went over and picked up our Netflix in the office. He was gone a long time—stopping to talk with Karen. I finally finished the third part of the Steven King trilogy and gave it to Mike to read. All three were great reads. Char and Jerry stopped by. Enjoyed talking with them. After imbibing a lot of wine, we went our separate ways. Low 80s and breezy.

Nice moon rise.

Wed, Mar 8, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Wind not so bad this morning. So, we put the awnings back out, but had to put them back in a few hours later. Instead of going to the dinner at the clubhouse tonight, we decided to head to Key West and have dinner down there. Well, there were three cruise ships in, and it’s spring break. So, lots of people milling around plus a lot of 20-somethings. Undaunted, after finally finding a place to park, we stopped at the Conch Republic Seafood Co. for drinks and dinner. A really nice evening, so after dinner we walked around the wharf area for a while. All things considered, a really nice evening. Low 80s today with less wind.

This guy was headed out somewhere in his little skiff--probably out to Wisteria Island. Or maybe he has a big yacht out there somewhere?

The beautiful schooner America. Want to do a sail on her before we leave.

Tue, Mar 7, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  An iffy start this morning—cloudy and sprinkling off and on. Still windy. We headed to Big Pine to do the grocery shopping and I got my toes painted. Lunch after at the little deli just down from Winn Dixie. Back home and put everything away. I decided to go out and clean up our site. All kinds of stuff blown in. Looks pretty good now. Maybe tomorrow we’ll be able to put the awnings back out. Paul walked by with Ellie Mae and Braedon. We just missed them. High 70s today.
