Fri, Dec 14:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Watched a couple more episodes of the “Shameless” series and then put the Netflix CD in the outgoing mail at the office on our way to lunch at Tiki’s Sandbar.  Back to our park and sat outside enjoying this beautiful day and reading our books.  Invited Char and Jerry over for some wine and conversation.  They’re going to Looe Key Tiki Bar tonight.  Haywire is playing.  We’re staying in and behaving ourselves.  Boring, I know.  82 today with a nice breeze.

Key West all decorated up for Christmas.

Thu, Dec 13:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  It was a pretty nice day—at least part of the day.  It started raining when we left, but by the time we got to Ramrod Key there was no rain.  We stopped at Boondocks for some lunch and then I went to see Douglas and got my hair cut.  Back home and we watched two episodes of Shameless on Netflix which showed up yesterday in the mail.  I miss streaming.  Anyway, it probably hit 80 today briefly.  Supposed to cool down again though.

I asked the owner of this restaurant where we had lunch if this parrot's wings were clipped.  He said no, but she's old and won't fly any more.  I know the feeling.

Wed, Dec 12:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  I ventured out to do the grocery shopping this morning.  Everyone was so bundled up.  I had on crop pants and a sweater. Actually it was colder in the store.  Anyway, didn’t go out after that.  Just stayed in and did some cleaning.  That’s always fun.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer.  We can only hope.  I think it hit 71 today.

A pretty nice evening tonight.

Tue, Dec 11:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:   Really chilly this morning—and really windy.  We didn’t even bother putting our awnings out because they’d just flop around.  Our maintenance guy, Mike, stopped by to hook up our cable boxes to our TVs.  We have Direct TV here which requires a box.  Other RV parks you just connect your coax cable to the power box and that’s it.  Here it’s always a problem.  Anyway, we’re now connected.  We just hung around inside today catching up with e-mail and banking.  It’s supposed to warm up in the next few days.  Only 66 here, but windy.  Pasta for dinner tonight.

Sunset in Costa Rica.

Mon, Dec 10:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  We got on the road about 9:00 this morning and arrived here at noon and were set up about 1:30.  Everything went very smoothly.  A bunch of our friends stopped by to say hello.  And tonight is happy hour at Mangrove Mama’s, so we’ll probably go over for a couple of drinks and some dinner.  Now all we have to do is hook up our cable.  We have to connect a box here at this park.  After we accomplish that we’ll be ready for a couple of drinks.  74 when we got down here and windy.  It’s supposed to warm up quickly.  We need to kick back for a couple of days.

We used to have an unobstructed view of the lake out our back window.  But the buttonwoods have grown like crazy since the hurricane.  Mike will probably trim them back some.

Sun, Dec 9:  Miami-Everglades RV Park, North of Homestead, FL:  Our Canadian friends, Esther & Gerald, stopped by this afternoon on their Harley with their little Pomeranian, Foxy.  We sat around munching and talking.  They’re planning on coming down to the Keys sometime in January.  Looking forward to seeing them again.  A little rain this morning, but nice in the afternoon.  Probably low 80s with a nice breeze.  Put all the outside stuff away in preparation for leaving tomorrow for the Keys.

Foxy with her goggles on ready to ride.

And off they go.

Sat, Dec 8:  Miami-Everglades RV Park, North of Homestead, FL:  James and Carolina showed up around 10:30 and we had a couple of glasses of wine and then headed over to the Everglades National Park.  Roamed around there for a while and then headed back to our site and had another couple of glasses of wine.  It was great to see them.  We had a great time.  They are leaving on the 19th for a trip to the Middle East.  World travelers!  A beautiful day today.  About 82 with a nice breeze.
