Mon, Jan 28:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  We had quite a storm last night.  Wind gusts in excess of 40 MPH, dangerous lightning, and pouring down rain. Lasted all night.  Still nasty this morning when Mike went over for donuts.  But it eventually cleared off.  Still cool but lots of sunshine.  60s today.

Sun, Jan 27:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  This morning I donned tights and a sweatshirt and stepped outside and—low and behold—it was warm.  So quickly changed into crop pants and a tee shirt.  We lucked out.  Everything went north of us.  We had a nice, warm, dry day today.  Dale and Carolyn came over in the afternoon with wine in hand and we sat and blabbed for a couple of hours.  Around 5:00 we started getting some sprinkles and wind.  So Dale and Carolyn went back home and we came inside and watched golf and had some dinner.  Victoria is on tonight.  Looking forward to that.  Upper 70s today.  Perfect!

Sat, Jan 26:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Rainy this morning but ended in the afternoon.  Didn’t even go out today.  Watched some Netflix.  Yesterday afternoon I found some grubby clothes and went up to the clubhouse and helped Carolyn with her project.  I stained and sanded.  As I stained Carolyn came behind me and wiped the excess stain off.  Got it done a lot quicker with two people working on it.  After that she and Dale came over for some wine and cheese.  Dale has a cold and is not feeling so great.  60s today.  Supposed to be crappy through Tuesday.

Fri, Jan 25:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Rainy and cool this morning.  After some breakfast and our morning ablutions we were trying to decide whether or not to head to the Tropic to see a movie.  We could park in the Post Office lot ($20) which is only a little over a block from the theater.  But I don’t think Mike wants to go out at all.  It is a good day for a movie I have to say.  Anyway, while waiting for him to decide I got on Amazon to order him new mocs.  His are falling apart and he’s been taping them up with gorilla tape.  He still wants to wait until we get home to buy new ones.  But he finally gave in.  New ones are on their way!  60s today with clouds and rain.

Mike in his taped up mocs...

Tape fell off this one.

I will not be seen in public with you wearing these!

Wed, Jan 23:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Taking the bikes up to Big Pine to get them tuned up.  Mike’s has a bad tire.  Not sure we’ll be biking anytime soon.  The weather just isn’t that great.  But we are wimps.  It’s gotta be warm and not too windy.  Dropping some donations off at the Salvation Army and making a CVS run.  Picked up a pie for tonight’s dinner at the clubhouse.  Fahitas tonight.  Still really windy.  All those little foamy things are blowing in off the lake and are all over the place.  Keep blowing them off—to no avail.  Made a huge pot of goulash yesterday which we’ll be eating for a while.  Upper 70s today.

Sun, Jan 20:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  I got up early hoping to get the laundry out of the way.  Until I looked outside.  The sky was black and thunder was rumbling.  Got the awnings in and then settled down for a break in the weather, which didn’t look promising.  Gusty winds and lots of rain. That’s perfect because we’re settling in to watch football all day.  Started out pretty warm and then temps plummeted.  Laundry can wait ‘til tomorrow.

Weird sunrise this morning creating a bright orange sky.

Which was soon obscured by clouds and rain.

Fri, Jan 18:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  After our morning ablutions we did a CVS run and then stopped at Boondocks for some lunch.  After we got back we were sitting outside and saw Carol walking her aging lab Chelsea.  Invited them over.  Greg is off fishing with Austin on his boat.  They’re 25-30 miles out.  No thank you!  Holds no interest for me.  Nothing in the plans for this weekend except for football on Sunday.  Looking forward to that.  Hopefully, Dale and Carolyn will stop by for some libation this afternoon.  Pretty nice today.  Warm if you’re in the sun.  Another cold front on Sunday though.  Supposed to be really cold.  Mid-70s today.
