Wed, Jun 17, 2020:  Day 89 of self-quarantine:  Can’t believe it’s been three months into our self-quarantine.  Looks like the rest of the summer isn’t going to be much better.  Sat on the deck reading my book for a while.  A beautiful day.  Disappointed in the book I’m reading “Woman in Cabin 10.”  Isn’t very scary at all—so far at least.  Our steaks were delicious last night.  Having left-overs of them for dinner tonight.  Upper 80s today.

Tue, Jun 16, 2020:  Day 88 of self-quarantine:  Ordered groceries from Aldi yesterday and they were delivered today at around 11:00.  For the first time I got a bunch of stuff I didn’t order.  But that’s okay.  Went to the library and picked up my new book.  I did a Grisham search to see if I could get his latest.  But there were 400 or so ahead of me.  Nixed that but saw a book he wrote the forward for.  I figured if he wrote the forward it had to be a good book.  The title is “The Cadaver King and the Country Dentist.”  Supposedly a true story.  Looking forward to starting that one.  Split up the remaining pasta and froze half.  I made way too much.  Steaks, mashed potatoes and a vegetable for dinner tonight.  Looking forward to something other than pasta.  A nice day today—mid-80s.

Mon, Jun 15, 2020:  Day 87 of self-quarantine:  The garage door guy showed up to fix our door.  Had to replace the motor.  But it was still under warranty, so it only cost 200+ instead of 400+.  Kicked butt playing spades with Nomad.  Low 80s today.  Left-over pasta AGAIN for dinner.

Fri, Jun 12, 2020:  Day 84 of self-quarantine:  My fancy new Iphone screen doesn’t show up in the sun.  Increased the brightness to see if that helps.  Our garage door is screwed up again.  They aren’t going to show up to fix it until Monday.  Oh great.  We have to open and close it manually.  What a bummer.  Pasta for dinner tonight.  92 out there at the moment.  Nice!

Thu, Jun 11, 2020:  Day 83 of self-quarantine:  Grocery order delivered around 12:00.  Got that all sanitized and put away and then drove Mike to CVS to pick up his scripts.  Gassed up the Lincoln at the same time.  Played spades for a while.  Not sure what’s for dinner.  Probably sandwiches.

Wed, Jun 10, 2020:  Day 82 of self-quarantine:  After the front went through yesterday, the weather turned perfect.  Mid-80s the rest of the week with low humidity.  Did another grocery order this afternoon.  Having it delivered tomorrow around noon.  Didn’t want to deal with it today. Getting ready to play spades with Nomad.

Mon, Jun 8, 2020:  Day 80 of self-quarantine:  Worked on my crossword puzzle this morning and listened to the birds outside.  They’re out there just chattering away.  Such a happy sound—or maybe they’re just communicating with each other.  I’d like to think they’re happy.  They make me happy.  Got a lot of stuff done today.  Did some cleaning, took care of my nails and picked up my new library book.  STL County Library does a good job.  They e-mail me when my book is ready for pick up.  You go to the library and park in the designated spot and text them and they bring your book and put it in your trunk.  My new book is “Woman in Cabin 10.”  Supposed to do for cruising what Jaws did for swimming in the ocean.  Can’t wait to start it.  Low 90s today.  Not sure what we’re doing for dinner.  Maybe order in.
