Mon, Jun 22, 2020:  Day 94 of self-quarantine:  Ventured out today to take my  library book back.  The library is now open, but I just returned my book and left.  Decided to stop at Walgreens and pick up some stuff.  First time I’ve gone into a store.  Very little people in there and all wearing masks.  Back home and after lunch we played spades for a while.  Didn’t do very well.  Nomad gets so frustrated.  Severe thunder storms predicted for this afternoon and evening.  Great.  Warm and humid today, but a cold front is coming through—thus the thunder storms.

Sun, Jun 21, 2020:  Day 93 of self-quarantine:  Was jolted awake this morning at 4:30 with the NOAA weather radio alerting.  Flash flood warnings.  Have to get that one off the list.  We should never have to worry about a flash flood where we’re at.  Did FaceTime with James and Carolina in Miami this morning.  I’ll have to figure out how that works.  It was great seeing the two of them.  With this pandemic going on, that’s probably the only way we’ll see each other.  Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!

Sat, Jun 20, 2020:  Day 92 of self-quarantine:  Did the laundry this morning.  I didn’t get up ‘til around 9:30. So, a late start to the day.  Got that done and after lunch Laura stopped by with Father’s Day prizes for Mike.  And she face-timed with James in Miami. So Mike got to see him also.  We’re supposed to face-time with James and Carolina tomorrow sometime.  Mike is watching yet another race and I’m down in the office playing spades.  Who will be my partner today?  Low 90s today.  Left-overs for dinner tonight.

Fri, Jun 19, 2020:  Day 91 of self-quarantine:  Made another grocery order today.  It was delivered around 12:30.  We sanitized everything and put it all away.  Another one of the incorrect items we received the other day was a pint of fresh strawberries.  So, going to bake up some biscuits and have strawberry shortcake for dessert tonight.  The last time we were in Door County we went to this church social (of all things) in Sister Bay because they were serving strawberry shortcake.  For $5 you got a huge bowl with a biscuit on the bottom, a huge scoop of ice cream, strawberries, another biscuit, more strawberries, and topped with whipped cream.  It was huge—for $5.  Hope we can go back there next year.  Another nice day.  Probably upper 80s out there.

A couple of the "cottages" in Sister Bay.

Thu, Jun 18, 2020:  Day 90 of self-quarantine:  Really hot today.  Think it hit 90.  My friend, Steve, called and had me in stitches.  He always makes me laugh.  He has to have surgery on his neck in July and is freaking out about it.  He bitched me out because he always calls me.  So, I think now I’ll call him every day and see how he likes it.  Around 3:00 Mike and I started playing spades.  Played until after 5:00 and had to hurry up and cook dinner.  But, two of the incorrect items we got in our grocery order were a pound of hamburger and a can of sloppy joe mix.  So, what the hell.  Cooked up the beef, added the can of sloppy joe mix, and voila—dinner.

Wed, Jun 17, 2020:  Day 89 of self-quarantine:  Can’t believe it’s been three months into our self-quarantine.  Looks like the rest of the summer isn’t going to be much better.  Sat on the deck reading my book for a while.  A beautiful day.  Disappointed in the book I’m reading “Woman in Cabin 10.”  Isn’t very scary at all—so far at least.  Our steaks were delicious last night.  Having left-overs of them for dinner tonight.  Upper 80s today.

Tue, Jun 16, 2020:  Day 88 of self-quarantine:  Ordered groceries from Aldi yesterday and they were delivered today at around 11:00.  For the first time I got a bunch of stuff I didn’t order.  But that’s okay.  Went to the library and picked up my new book.  I did a Grisham search to see if I could get his latest.  But there were 400 or so ahead of me.  Nixed that but saw a book he wrote the forward for.  I figured if he wrote the forward it had to be a good book.  The title is “The Cadaver King and the Country Dentist.”  Supposedly a true story.  Looking forward to starting that one.  Split up the remaining pasta and froze half.  I made way too much.  Steaks, mashed potatoes and a vegetable for dinner tonight.  Looking forward to something other than pasta.  A nice day today—mid-80s.

Cute little bungalow in Key West.

Probably cost over one million.
