Thu, Jan 21, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  A gorgeous day today!  I walked up to the office, which is a little over a mile.  Picked up our mail and Mike picked me up there and we drove into Clewiston to run some errands.  Picked up some lunch while we were there.  After lunch we played spades for a while.  Watched the inaugural concert last night.  I’m so glad I did.  Don’t know who produced it.  But it was really special.  So glad I watched it.  The real star in the inauguration ceremony was the poet laureate.  A young black girl who drew a standing ovation.  Her name is Amanda Gorman.  Remember her name.  She will  be a rising star.  She’s only 22.  75 today.

Wed, Jan 20, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  What a beautiful inauguration!  Good riddance to the last four years of vitriol, bullying and lies.  Even Fox News is being called out for continuing the lies and conspiracy theories of the last four years—and creating some of their own. Especially Hannity and Carlson.  I have hope for the future.  But there are still republicans in Congress saying the election was a fraud.  Give me a break!  Time to get some backbone.  I’m now having a glass of wine celebrating this new administration.

Congratulations to President Biden and Vice President Harris!

Tue, Jan 19, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Can’t believe it’s the middle of January already.  Spent most of the morning on the computer.  I ordered a pair of Sketchers Go Walk shoes which were way too big.  Had to prepare for their return.  Amazon makes it pretty easy.  Played spades with Nomad this afternoon.  Left-over meatloaf for dinner.  Turned into a really nice day today.  We have several nice days ahead of us.  We hired a guy to do our driveway.  Should happen in the next few days.  73 here today.

Mon, Jan 18, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Grocery shopping late morning in LaBelle.  Picked up lunch on the way back.  Yesterday’s football game was great.  The Chiefs won.  Tried to sit outside and read after lunch.  Too chilly with the wind.  Tried to read inside but kept falling asleep.  So, got the computer out.  Playing spades with Nomad shortly.  Watched a PBS documentary a couple of days ago about some areas in Florida.  One of them was the Fakahachee Strand SP south of I75 just off 29.  There are a few old growth cypress trees in there that were saved from the logging industry.  And also 47 species of orchids in there.  Going to check that out.

This guy wrote a book about when the Russians took over Berlin at the end of WWII and how he and his mother escaped when he was a little boy.  I bought the book.  A pretty good read.

Sun, Jan 17, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  I started the laundry while Mike was still in bed.  He got up in time to help fold.  He’s the only husband I know that helps fold clothes.  Looking forward to the KC Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns football game today.  Rooting for the Chiefs, but as Mike said, Cleveland hasn’t won anything in a long time.  We’ll see.  A lot of people in here from both Missouri and Ohio.  The Rams didn’t do well at all yesterday.  Whoever wins today, it should be a good game.  It’s 63 out there right now.  Got a meatloaf ready to put in the oven for dinner.

Sat, Jan 16, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Cool today, and windy.  I had to put the awning away finally.  Mike got the ladder out and washed the walls and ceiling in the fifth wheel.  The ceiling is so high we need a ladder.  That’s the price he pays for being able to smoke in here with alacrity.  Looking forward to football this afternoon.

Fri, Jan 15, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  I took the trash out this morning at 7:00.  It was so pretty out there.  There was a little fog and the rising sun cast a pink glow on the clouds. Surreal.  After breakfast I went for a walk and then ran into some people I haven’t seen in a while.  I was the only one wearing a mask.  Talked with them for a while.  Then Mike and I washed the truck.  Ordered lunch from Crumb’s (thank you Laurie!).  When we went to pick up our order, I started out walking and Mike came by after 15 minutes or so and picked me up.  Playing spades with Nomad shortly.
