Wed, Dec 29, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Another spectacular day today!  Richard and Larry, a couple of friends from the Keys who are now in an RV park in LaBelle, are stopping by around noon.  Along with Dale and Carolyn, we’re going to Crumb’s for lunch on their patio.  It’ll be fun catching up.  Low 80s today.

Tue, Dec 28, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Mostly cloudy today, but nice in the upper 70s.  A couple of guys showed up to dig a trench for the cement footers needed for the patio cover.  They’ll pour the cement on Thursday.  We’ll be gone in the morning as we have to head to Ft. Myers for my PT.  I want my hand back.

Sun, Dec 26, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Our friends are back from their annual ski trip out west.  They stopped over and picked up the plants we were keeping for them and then stopped by again in the afternoon on their bikes.  Mike started the laundry and I walked up and helped him fold.  I walked back also since it’s a struggle for me to get into the truck since I can only use one hand.  A beautiful day again today in the low 80s.

A little bunny under our chair a few mornings back.

Fri, Dec 24, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Went over to the pool this afternoon to hear a local band.  Our neighbor, Mark, does the vocals.  Loved the songs they played.  After about an hour we left and checked out our friend’s site after the wind storm.  We pick them up at the airport tomorrow evening.  Home and played spades for a while. A beautiful day today in the low 80s.

Wed, Dec 22, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Well I broke my right wrist on the Sunday we got together with our friends a couple of weeks ago.  Getting ready for bed, I bent over to pick up my shoes and just kept going.  No more wine for me!  After surgery, I now have a plate and screws in there.  After dealing with a bulky splint, I’m now in a custom made and much smaller and lighter splint.  Getting stitches out today but will continue in the splint for a few more weeks (sigh).  We had the worst day yesterday.  Horrendous winds.  Turns out an EF1 tornado came through.  Our awning is bent so we can’t put it in.  Mike had a hard time keeping it from going awry.  We’re waiting for a contractor to remove our broken awning and putting up a permanent patio cover—also permanent slide covers.  Told Mike we should just cut down the damn thing and be done with it.  That’s it for now.  Over and out. Thanks to my friend Jerry for e-mailing me to see if I'm still alive.

My new, much smaller and lighter splint.

Good bye old friend...

Sun, Dec 5, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Craig came over yesterday and replaced our fireplace with the new one that came from the factory.  We now have decent heat and can retire our ceramic heater for the time being.  Did the laundry today.  Crumb’s was packed for their breakfast/brunch.  Got the laundry out of the way and sat outside reading my book.  Mark came over and checked out our new pavers.  We gave him half of the watermelon Jesus gave us and a couple of the tomatoes.  Meeting with Dale and Carolyn this afternoon at their place.  Upper 70s today.  Cloudy at first but clearing off nicely.

Jesus did a great job with the pavers.  We have to keep working the sand in between the cracks before we can put the table and chairs back in.

Sat, Dec 4, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Jesus and Virginia showed up at 8:30 this morning.  They were done by 3;30.  Dale and Carolyn stopped by on their bikes just as they were finishing up.  It turned out really great!  We imbibed wine with Dale and Carolyn until about 5:00.  After they left we cleaned up our site and went inside.  Jesus brought a bunch of beautiful tomatoes and a watermelon.  I cut up half of the watermelon—now we have to figure out what to do with the other half.  Upper 70s today.
