Mon, Feb 14, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Mike got me the cutest Valentine’s Day card. I made one for him—but nowhere near as cute. I also got a surprise box of candy from our neighbor, Tim. The Super Bowl last night was a great game. And the Rams won! Cold and windy today. At least we don’t have the awning to deal with now. Only in the 60s today. Off to the grocery store.

Sat, Feb 12, 2022: The Glades RV Park: We finally got our permanent cover for our patio and slides. Curt had a crew out here on Wednesday. It really came out great. They did a fantastic job. Finished up the taxes yesterday. It was such a beautiful afternoon we decided to lunch on the patio at Crumb’s. Dale and Carolyn were biking by at the time and stopped for a couple of drinks. Since we now have our new 50” smart TV, we’ve been streaming the Ozark series. It’s hard to stop watching it. We were hoping for a crappy day today so we could stream without guilt. But it’s going to be a beautiful day. Forecast is for 85 today.

Sat, Feb 5, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Most of our neighbors are off for a bike ride today. They’re meeting at the tiki bar in Clewiston and then going all the way around Lake Okeechobee. A long ride. I went over to Tim and Todd’s for happy hour yesterday afternoon. Was hoping to elicit some help with the 50” TV we bought for the living room. I was the only one there. Everyone was off at a golf tournament. So, no help for a while. I really enjoy talking with Sue, Tim’s wife. They have a cute little yorkie mix named Aria. I left around 4:30. Figured Mike was wondering what happened to me. He wasn’t. Just enjoying his alone time. Wish I hadn’t left so early as other people started gathering. Nomad and I played spades for a while. It’s going to be a beautiful day today. Maybe we’ll go out to Crumb’s today since we’re out of left-overs.

Wed, Feb 2, 2022: The Glades RV Park: It’s going to be 80 today, so the Goddards and Venegonis are going to Crumbs for lunch on the patio to see if we can see our shadows. We’ve endured several cold days (sunshine state my ass) lately and are chomping at the bit to feel the warm sun on our skin. We’ve been doing indoor things—nothing kinky, just reading and playing games. The last time I was at the library I picked up this magazine commemorating 75 years since The Diary of Anne Frank. Eight people hid in a cramped 500 sq ft. space for two years! She and her sister died at Bergen Belsen concentration camp 5 days before it was liberated. They both had typhus. What I didn’t know was that her father, Otto, survived. 80 today.

Thu, Jan 27 2022: The Glades RV Park: Today is the last nice day for a while. So we decided to go to Crumb’s for lunch and invited our friends from the Keys, Larry and Richard, and Dale and Carolyn joined us for a couple of drinks before their bean bag baseball game. A fun lunch. Going to be a cold weekend.

Mon, Jan 24, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Yesterday was an absolutely miserable, raw day. But the BEST football day in a long time. Two real nail biters. The Bucs and the Rams was the early game. The Chiefs and the Bills the late game. And our teams won! An incredible day of football! We were so amped up after the games it was hard to get to sleep. 36 in here this morning! Brrrr!

Thurs, Jan 20, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Last Sunday was a hot mess in here. At least four EF1/2 tornados came through—mostly around Ft. Myers. One around Clewiston—too close for comfort. We just had a lot of wind and some rain. No damage here. But in other places damage was pretty extensive. We seem to get more tornados here than in St. Louis. At least in St. Louis we have a lower level to retreat to. Going to be a nice day today, so we’re heading to Crumb’s for lunch on their patio. Another cold front coming through by the weekend. That’s okay. We’ll be watching the Chiefs and the Rams.
