Mon, Nov 28, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  We decided to drive to Clewiston this morning.  Big mistake!  We sat on Rt. 80 for over an hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic.  Turns out an 18-wheeler hit a train in Clewiston and three of the cars derailed.  What a mess!  They brought in a crane to deal with the derailed cars.  There were so many emergency vehicles—state, county and local police.  We decided to have lunch at the tiki bar in Clewiston and then came back.

Tue, Nov 22, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Another cloudy, but warm day today.  Mike had to pick up a script in Clewiston, so we had lunch at the tiki bar there.  Sat outside reading for a while.  Walked up to the library and picked up a new book.  It was so nice outside, we hung out for several hours.

Mon, Nov 21, 2022, The Glades RV Park:  Started out nice this morning, so I took my smoothie and sat outside for a while.  But the clouds rolled in and it’s been gloomy ever since, and sprinkling off and on.  So we took the sheets up to the laundry and got them washed and remade the bed.  Always a fun job.  Spent the day reading, watching stuff we recorded, and playing spades on-line.  A nice day really.  HB Mom!

Fri, Nov 18, 2022, The Glades RV Park:  A little chilly the last two days.  We just hunkered down inside reading and playing spades.  Most of our neighbors are on a trip to Key West.  They’re supposed to be back tomorrow.  That’s if they’re not in jail.

Fri, Nov 11, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  We had some excitement last night.  Not sure if I’d call it excitement.  We’re watching TV last night around 7:00 and the carbon monoxide detector started alerting.  It was lighting up like crazy and beeping.  We checked everything, shut down the propane and it was still alarming and beeping.  We checked the owner’s manual and it took a while just to find the section on the carbon monoxide detector.  The only thing we could find was this alerting and beeping indicated we needed to replace the detector.  Mike finally pulled the fuse.  We ended up calling Glades County fire and they sent out someone to check.  This big fire truck pulled up around 45 minutes later with all their lights flashing.  I’m sure our neighbors thought they’d be pulling a body out or something.  They checked everything with their detector and found nothing.  Still worried, we opened windows and put on all the fans.  Today we headed to ACE Hardware and bought a plug-in detector.  We are now protected.  Carbon monoxide is nothing to take lightly.

To all the veterans out there, thank you for your service!

Thu, Nov. 10, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Well, we survived the hurricane/tropical storm today.  Yesterday people were scurrying around removing their carport covers and screen room covers.  Because we have a permanent screen room, the only thing we had to do was take the chairs off our patio.  Supposed to be pretty gusty tomorrow.  Not sure if we’ll put our chairs back out or not.  No happy hour tonight.

Fri, Nov 4, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  I drove to Clewiston this morning and Mike stayed behind with the guy from Bobby’s RV Repair who was here to fix our hot water heater.  I got back around 11:30 and we headed to The Riverfront Grill (formerly Crumb’s) for lunch.  A beautiful day, albeit a little windy.  We put the umbrella out and a frog jumped down and landed on my left boob.  Decided it was too windy for the umbrella as it kept trying to blow away.  Had a great lunch and then back to our site and Mike set up the water softener.  Now we just have a little trimming to take care of and we’re done—for now anyway.  83 in here today.

A couple of nice boats went by as we were having lunch.
